Dr Cornelia Inderst is the general counsel for Generali Deutschland, a Germany holding company consisting of approximately different 20 insurance companies. Leading its legal division for the last two years, Dr Inderst is an expert on corporate and compliance advisory as well as legal expertise on compliance topics such as competition law, data protection and privacy law, bribery and corruption as well as trade controls and sanctions. Prior to her current role, Dr Inderst had a successful 17 year spell at SwissRe, the world’s second largest reinsurer, starting as a group compliance director in charge of legal and compliance advisory work for EMEA including competition law, data protection and privacy law, bribery and corruption. In 2006 she took on the role of director, overseeing the legal and compliance matters that cover the EMEA area in a role she excelled in up until her 2015 move to Generali Deutschland.
