Founded in 1971, Starbucks operates over 30,000 locations worldwide as of early 2019. It opened its first store in Hong Kong in 2000. The Starbucks legal team in Hong Kong is well recognised in the in-house legal industry as providing support to the business on a wide range of legal and regulatory matters. The team’s expertise has also been required in a number of Starbucks’ most important transactions and deals. For example, with legal team’s contribution, Starbucks licensed its Hong Kong and Macau operations in 2011. More recently, Starbucks opened its first store at Hong Kong Disneyland, marking a new collaboration with Hong Kong’s largest theme park.
