Accenture - Complex Contracting
The Accenture legal team overseeing complex contracting for Italy, Central Europe and Greece (ICEG) is made up of nine lawyers, eight in Italy and one in Poland as well as two executive assistants providing administrative support. In the last two years, the team has implemented a legal delivery centre called the Global Legal Network (GLN), currently located in Naples. This division provides support directly to the business function, with the aim to support the legal department on more complex areas. In the last year the team has extended GLN’s support on areas related to public procurement code, allowing onshore resources to concentrate on more upstream activities. ‘The team includes lawyers with innovative mind-sets acting as business partners. This innovation mind-set is based on intellectual curiosity on emerging technology since Accenture as a whole is positioning itself as a leader in digital transformation’, says Valerio Bruno, ICEG lead for complex contracting. The legal team reports directly into Bruno who has introduced the role of industry “point of contact” to make sure the team is focused on industry and client account specific needs and developments, not only related to client opportunities but also following and understanding industry group priorities and developments in the market that are relevant for the respective industry group. ‘In this respect, the industry point of contact acts as a point of contact for the business leader of the relevant geographic industry unit’, says Bruno.
