Aon Italia is an organisation that offers risk management, insurance and reinsurance brokerage services providing customers in Italy with a dedicated and highly specialised team of resources. The Aon Italia legal team is made up of six in-house lawyers and one support and is led by legal counsel and compliance officer Conny Mastroieni, who has 25 years of experience at Aon and supports the top management in large business transactions and M&A’s. Directly below Mastroieni there are three members of staff – corporate secretary and HR manager, Stefania Cesari, deputy compliance officer Gilda Barone and litigation manager Delia Scalia. The junior members of the team are Roberta Licari and Paolo D’Alice who are involved in the other cross-level activities required by the legal team such as drafting of various contracts, business support, litigation support and compliance activities. The legal team is also supported by an on-rolling staff member, which mainly helps in the GDPR sector. ‘In the last two years our team was able to grow thanks to the recruitment of a “new generation”. Thanks to this fact, all the staff has received a positive effect which has given to all of us a new perspective in the carrying out of our ordinary activities’, says Mastroieni. In 2018, Aon acquired a company specialised in bank assurance intermediation, a project that required the team to use their legal expertise for a number of months. ‘Our colleagues are our top clients. Our legal department is very focused in business supports and all of our activities aimed to help the business in reaching the best results’, says Mastroieni.
