Andrew O’Flanagan
Chief legal officer | National Treasury Management Agency
‘The NTMA is one of the most important public bodies in Ireland. While it continues to perform its historical function of borrowing on behalf of the government and managing the national debt it has, as part of Ireland’s response to the financial crisis, established the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund, the National Development Agency and NewERA. All of these separate functions are significant and complex in their own right. Each is supported by lawyers within the NTMA team. [O’Flanagan] plays a hugely important role at a very senior executive level in managing that team and providing strategic advice and guidance to the senior executive team in the NTMA’.
