A lawyer of nearly 20 years, Dr Hans-Konrad Ress is a celebrated and extensively accomplished general counsel based in Munich, having collected a wide amount of financial legal services skills and experience over the course of his professional career. Dr Ress previously worked as a foreign associate for international law firm Slaughter and May, and additionally completed a three years spell at Hengeler Mueller as an associate. These roles have helped him build his international calibre, with his professional outreach covering a number of jurisdictions, evermore preparing him towards becoming an outstanding group general counsel for one of Germany’s most high-profile international businesses. First joining Allianz in 2002, Dr Ress occupied the role of senior legal counsel and was promoted to his current position as group general counsel in January 2017. During his time in that role, Dr Ress contributed to the significant transaction involving the sale of Dresdner Bank to Commerzbank in November 2008, as a result of the transaction, Allianz gained a 14% controlling stake in the new Commerzbank.
