‘David Dwyer is general counsel of all of Unilever’s Southeast Asia and Australasian businesses, and is a member the legal leadership team and Southeast Asia leadership team. He manages the company’s legal teams across the region, comprising more than 35 lawyers and other staff responsible for businesses across Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand. Dwyer provides the business with strategic legal and regulatory advice and guidance about major corporate, compliance and commercial matters and is responsible for oversight and resolution of major legal and regulatory issues arising from Unilever’s A$10bn portfolio of businesses in the region. As part of the leadership team, he assists Unilever’s global chief legal officer and other team members to craft the function’s global strategy and direction’.
