Air Panama
The second-largest airline in Panama, Air Panama serves a number of primarily regional destinations with a total fleet around 20 aircraft at any one time. Alongside routes within Panama, the airline operates daily flights to Costa Rica, and thus serves an important role in connecting Central America. Legal support for air operations are complex by definition of running the gamut of customer complaints to aircraft acquisitions and supply agreements, all the while dealing with a highly regulated industry from a safety perspective. Ariel Donato is legal director for the company, having taken over the role in 2012, and takes on business advisory and development responsibilities in addition to legal work. As such, the legal function of Air Panama is well coordinated with business matters, which looks set to pay dividends as the business expands in the future; Air Panama has a number of aircrafts on order and plans to expand its passenger-carrying numbers significantly in the near future.
