Head of legal for the Near East | Procter & Gamble
Working in the legal department for multinational FMCG business Procter & Gamble (P&G) – which was recognised in The Legal 500 GC Powerlist: Africa Teams in 2016 – for almost two decades, Amany Elzayaty is the current head of legal for the Middle East region at the company.
With extremely strong leadership skills, Elzayaty has a broad remit that reflects the countries within the space she is responsible for, she ensures business objectives are met in a legally compliant manner across Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Iraq, requiring a wealth of local knowledge surrounding all laws and regulations that may affect the P&G business operations there. Elzayaty also proves her skills and all-round legal ability through her management of legal affairs of P&G in the Middle East, which involves the oversight of all matters related to a variety of contracts, litigation portfolio management, liaising with external counsel, leading mergers and acquisitions and compliance projects.
In addition to her legal remit, Elzayaty is responsible for the organisation and smooth undertaking of the company’s general assembly, ordinary and extraordinary meetings, whilst she also leads corporate projects and the provision of legal training. She also handles all legal aspects related to employee relations and deploying antitrust laws in Egypt and the Levant countries.
