Can you briefly explain how the legal team is structured, highlighting key individuals and their role within the department?

The Scatec legal team consists of 22 highly skilled specialists. The general counsel is responsible for all legal aspects of the Scatec group, serving as the secretary to the board and being head of compliance.

The rest of the team comprehends the chief compliance officer, Elizabeth Ryder, who reports to the general counsel and is responsible for implementing and monitoring compliance programmes. Elizabeth holds a juris doctor from New York Law School and has extensive experience in international law firms and in-house positions.

The senior vice president Annette Andreassen is responsible for the legal aspects of the construction of all renewable power plants constructed by the group, hereunder procurement and operation and maintenance. Annette earned her law degree from Tulane University Law School and has experience in big law firms in New York and Norway.

Siobhan Minnaar is the vice president. They report directly to the general counsel and are responsible for the legal aspects related to the development of new infrastructure projects in Sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America. Additionally, Siobham is responsible for the corporate governance of all operating assets and the ReLease business — the lease of re-deployable renewable energy solutions globally. Before joining Scatec, Minnaar worked several years with M&A at Norton Rose Fulbright. She earned her law degree at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in South Africa.

The vice president Martine Dysvik also reports to the general counsel and is responsible for all the legal aspects related to developing new infrastructure projects in South and South-East Asia. They have a crucial role in allowing the entrance to the Eastern European Market, Ukraine, India, Vietnam, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Before joining Scatec, Martine Dysvik worked for several years at the Norwegian law firm Wikborg, Rein in Oslo and Singapore. She earned her law degree at the University of Oslo.

Kjetil Landmark is the senior vice president and oversees the development of hydropower plants globally. He previously served as the general counsel of SN Power — the leading hydropower developer in emerging markets, which Scatec acquired in 2021. Before joining Scatec and SN Power, Kjetil worked in top-tier law firms in Norway and in various in-house positions. He studied law at the University of Oslo.

James Avison, senior legal counsel, is the newest addition to the direct report to the general counsel. James will be responsible for the legal aspects related to the development of new infrastructure projects in Europe and the Middle East, as well as being lead on corporate finance and debt capital markets. Before joining Scatec, James worked for eight years at Allen & Overy in London, focusing on debt capital markets. He earned his law degree at the College of Law in Guildford.
