How do you feel the pandemic has changed the world of work for in-house counsel and the function of the general counsel?
The pandemic made us explore and discover potential opportunities for smart working. This meant that there was a lot of cost and time saving due to a decrease in travel time.
Considering the pandemic, administrative, legal requirements and formalities required further attention to be fulfilled, and a lot of these formalities were suddenly discovered as time consuming, potentially replaceable with smart solutions.
What are the most significant cases and transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?
Some of the most significant projects were the company listing at Milan Venue, the acquisition of the Israelian-Australian Chromagen business, a domestic reverse merger and notably, a foreign re-domiciliation of the company.
What do you feel are the pros and cons of an in-house legal role compared to a private practice one?
An in-house legal role requires the counsel to be a manager and a 360-degree evaluator of circumstances, risks, and organisational impacts. A private practice role is more technical and mostly legal grounded without business, managerial or organisational implications.
