With nearly 10 years of experience at Transurban and prior experience in the transport and infrastructure sectors, Julie Galligan leads the legal function at the company as its group general counsel. She is an experienced strategic and commercial legal advisor, adept in management of the board of director’s governance matters, commercial transactions, M&A, regulatory, financing and human resources. Transurban is a top 20 company on the ASX, founded in Melbourne in 1996 to manage and develop toll road networks across Australia and in the US state of Virginia and Canadian province of Québec. It offers maintenance of existing roads, supplies for new roads, and the development of new projects and infrastructure in urban environments. Galligan has been at the helm for the last decade, running some of its major projects from a legal standpoint, including the NorthConnex tunnel in Sydney, the West Gate tunnel in Melbourne, the 395 Express Lanes in Virginia, and many more.
