After a notable career spent in the in-house legal banking and finance sector, Maria Polczynski moved on to a new challenge in May 2018 after her appointment as general counsel and head of corporate governance for Australian outdoor advertising and media company Ooh!. Her aforementioned experience, which saw her spend almost a decade at notable financial institutions Bendigo Bank and AMP, has prepared Polczynski well in undertaking the lead lawyer position in a business that operates in a dynamic, well-regulated and competitive market sector.

Not only an experienced in-house legal professional, Polczynski is also known to be a pursuer of the development and reinvention of legal service delivery through value-pricing, disaggregation and systemisation of external legal services and flexible work options. She has contributed to the development of the law and the way it is practiced, including as a member of the Attorney General’s Consultative Group on Personal Property Securities Reform, the national and Sydney chair of the Financial Services Committee of Law Council of Australia and as a contributing author to leading legal text, “The Law Relating to Banker and Customer in Australia”.
