Assistant general counsel (Sub-Saharan Africa) | IFC - International Finance Corporation
Zurina Saban is a highly accomplished in-house legal officer, and has an abundance of technical legal skill in a number of areas. In particular, her abilities surrounding project finance and related fields, as well as general corporate law, are highly regarded by colleagues.
Previously an associate with White & Case in both Johannesburg and London, Saban has been an in-house lawyer for global development organisation the International Finance Corporation since October 2003. Over this time, alongside building a detailed knowledge of the IFC’s operations from top to bottom, Saban has practiced in Washington, Cairo, Istanbul and Johannesburg in support of the group’s development goals.
Now assistant general counsel for the IFC in sub-Saharan Africa, Saban takes on a great deal of responsibility as well as significant day to day challenges. To deal with these, she favours a cooperative approach, utilising her excellent interpersonal skills to forge strong working relationships with relevant parties both in and outside the IFC.
