What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?

With a strategic business approach, our legal team has successfully navigated Pluspetrol in this unpredictable political environment by providing the appropriate legal advice to different projects. As a member of the Crisis Committees, I envisaged the solutions to protect the interest of stakeholders in this currently highly volatile market.

How do you feel the pandemic has changed the world of work for in-house counsel and the function of the general counsel?

The pandemic introduced new challenges including managing remote work without prior experience. However, it also gave us an opportunity to enjoy a better work-life balance. Given the legal industry’s notorious reputation of work-life balance, normalising remote-work will help us to have a healthy balance between our professional and personal lives.

Looking forward, what technological advancements do you feel will impact the role of in-house legal teams in the future the most?

Technological advancements will improve our practice in various areas. Legal KPIs will help us to have realistic budgets for each project whilst allowing us to understand cost effectiveness. Technology will also improve customer satisfaction and employee wellbeing by precisely monitoring their requirements.
