Listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, the South African-based holding company Imperial Holdings operates exclusively in the logistics and vehicle sectors employing over 49,000 people in Africa and Europe.

Having worked there since 2004, group legal adviser and company secretary Rohan Venter has built a formidable reputation as a legal expert with a sophisticated understanding of Imperial’s activities and operations. Venter has assisted the group on a number of large and complex deals during his tenure one of the most recent being a R400m partnership extension between Pick n Pay and Resolve, an Imperial Logistics group company, which represents the company’s biggest logistics control tower project to date.

Another important recent deal Venter was influential in facilitating was the R3.8bn acquisition of UK-based company Palletways to continue Imperial’s expansion beyond its home market. He is a graduate of Rand Afrikaans University, obtaining his Master’s degree in banking, corporate finance and securities law from there in 1992.
