The pandemic accelerated the necessary digital transformation in Ecuador; utilising digital tools allowed us to work with colleagues and business partners in other countries where we maintain operations efficiently while reducing travel costs.

Without any delay, we successfully completed an acquisition of a company from an important economic group in Latam. Our team also won lawsuits against illegal seizures by certain municipalities in EC.
How important have ‘soft skills’ or personal attributes outside of technical legal skill been to the team’s success, and which ‘soft skills’ do you feel are most important for an in-house lawyer to possess?

To have a motivated and creative team, what is important is to demonstrate our ability to navigate business operation without significant risk, while developing soft skills including ethics, communication, resilience, ability to solve problems, and team management.
