What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?

We have been involved in several projects this year. The most significant has been the agreement with the Uruguayan Ministry of Health related to a disease treatment national coverage programme.

We have also been very active in Argentina, where we handled multiple competition law cases.

Have any new laws, regulations or judicial decisions greatly impacted your company’s business or your legal practice?

Yes — probably the regulation that has impacted my company the most, has been the Ley de Farmacos II in Chile.

How do you calculate the value that an external law firm brings to you?

External law firms are partners of the legal department, and their importance increases if they develop a more comprehensive understanding of the business. Only in this way, they can provide not only legal advice, but also input to shape certain strategies.
