AXA Česká Republika is the Prague based branch of the large multinational AXA insurance firm, a broad ranging provider of pensions, insurance contracts, building savings, insurance software and consulting services. The legal team has been managed by Petr Dušek, who has undertaken the general counsel role since 2014, and is an expert in financial and insurance law, compliance and litigation. The legal team handles all legal and compliance matters pertaining to the company’s services in the Czech Republic and Slovakia in the heavily regulated insurance industry. The legal team has been key to the increasing presence that AXA has in the region through its expert guidance of the group’s growth in the Czech Republic and Slovakia some of the region’s largest markets. In the first half of 2018, AXA Česká Republika achieved profits of CZK467m and recorded year on year profit growth of 46%, this result helped in no small part by the legal team.
