LUKOIL Romania
Multinational Russian energy company LUKOIL has had a presence in Romania since 1998, and currently has 310 distribution stations around the country, employing more than 3,000 people across its network of Romanian locations. The team is led by the renowned general counsel Adina Gutiu, who coordinates the company’s legal affairs and presides over a legal department staffed with a number of high calibre legal experts. The team provides legal counsel that is comprehensive, timely and cost-saving, and the team’s lawyers are adept at producing positive outcomes across a range of practice areas including energy law, corporate and commercial law and M&A transactions. One important recent project that LUKOIL is undertaking in Romania is the exploration campaign in the Black Sea in partnership with state-owned Romanian gas producer Romgaz, which will see several exploration wells drilled in the Black Sea Trident perimeter in efforts that are said to potentially be able to supply three years’ worth of gas for Romanian citizens.
