The Swarovski in-house legal team is recognised for its outstanding work on matters in the precious gems industry, with Swarovski having been one of the world’s most sought after producers for about 120 years. The team’s remit includes that of Swarovski Optik, a producer of precision optical instruments like telescopes and binoculars; Tyrolit, a producer of grinding, sawing, drilling and dressing machines and tools; and the crystal jewellery business. The group combined to generate €3.36bn in revenue in 2017 and employs 32,000 people. The legal function within the group is a critical element of the company’s continued success across its range of businesses that span different legal practice areas. It combines legal expert knowledge with commercial value adding spirit and compliance expertise. As a member of the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) and the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) Swarovski takes its regulations seriously and is a world leader on responsible crystal production.
