Andreas Burki’s career at insurance and pension solutions firm Baloise Group, started nineteen years ago in the role of legal counsel. Over the years he has gained a number of promotions including as head legal in 2005, and finally as general counsel in 2014. Burki has supported the company’s smart prevention concept of bulding a “Safe World”, providing maximum security in facing potential deals and acquisitions that may jeopardise their ethos. Burki has been a key facilitator in the ever-expanding size of the Group, which has operations in Switzerland, Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg. With the help of his legal team, he has helped to coordinate several collective investment schemes, managed by UBS Fund Management Switzerland. Prior to joining Baloise, he served as president of the law and compliance commission at Swiss Insurance Association SVV for the duration of seven years.
