With almost 20 years of experience in national and multinational public sector regulated utility companies, Frederico Araujo leads the legal department at Comgas as general counsel. With Comgas since 2003, he has developed talent and interest in administrative law, a specialty of legal education, and has become adept at anticipating scenarios and identifying risks within the regulatory environment of constantly changing legislation within public utilities. He is responsible for all regulatory matters as well as strategic management of litigation, arbitration and any administrative issues, as well as carrying out projects and restructurings when required. With a business minded approach he leads the legal team with a facilitating mind-set within the possibilities of regulations. Comgas supplies natural gas to the São Paulo state, with almost 2 million customers, and is regulated by the Agency of Regulation in Sanitation and Energy of the State of São Paulo (ARSESP), an agency of the São Paulo State Government.
