In the position of group general counsel at major aerospace, defence and technology powerhouse Safran since June 2016, Coralie Bouscasse’s career began in earnest in 1985, when she became deputy director of international relations at CNRS. She moved to defence giant Thales in 1989, and held a succession of prominent positions with the company over the course of more than two decades with the group.
Notable among these, she was made chief legal and compliance officer for Thales Air systems and then the Land and Joint Systems divisions of the company in 2004 and 2007 respectively. After this, she joined Areva as chief legal officer for the company’s reactors and services branch, and was made general counsel for the Areva Group in 2014.
As group general counsel for Safran, Bouscasse has ultimate responsibility for a highly demanding set of legal requirements given the variety of the company’s products and the extreme sensitivity of some of its work. Oweing to her prior experience, senior expertise and excellent business acumen, she is the ideal person to take on the role.
