Ricardo Genis Mourão joined Goldman Sachs in 2011 and was named managing director in 2015. Prior to joining the firm, Mourão was an external counsel in banking and securities in São Paulo for 13 years, where he made his career starting as an intern and moving along the path until he was named partner at a banking law firm. Before that, he was an equity trader for Banco Patrimonio. Mourão earned a degree in Business from Fundação Getulio Vargas in 1996 and a degree in Law from the University of São Paulo in 2000. With its office in São Paulo, Goldman Sachs came to Brazil in 1995, attracted to Latin America’s second largest economy, and invested heavily. In 2007 it opened the Brazil branch and the following year started trading, following in 2009 with the launch of its private wealth management product. Currently, the global asset management giant has 240 professionals in its Brazil outfit and is led in all legal matters expertly by Mourão.
