When Patricia Garcia joined the VINCI Group, an international airport management company, in 2013, she describes it as, ‘boosting its internationalisation strategy and therefore was looking for a lawyer that could help them to understand and adapt to new jurisdictions’. Having experienced working as an in-house counsel in France, Angola, Bolivia and Brazil, Garcia was well placed to take the position in 2013. Since then she has worked on drafting and negotiating project documentation including designing and building contracts, operation and management contracts, and financing documentation. She has experience of negotiating and drafting joint-venture and shareholder agreements, articles of association, and preparing bidding documents for tenders. Highlights of her career at VINCI include the bidding, set up and financing of the concession for the extension and operation of Santiago Airport, Chile in 2015 – 2016, and for Salvador, Bahia Airport Brazil in 2017-2018, which was the group’s first concessions investment in Brazil.
