Handling corporate matters, projects and transactions at the French automobile multinational Renault, deputy general counsel Jean-Benoit Devauges continues to impress peers both within Groupe Renault and among France’s wider in-house legal community. Devauges re-joined Renault in 2011 following five successful years at Nissan. Having been based in both the US and Japan during his spell there, Devauges developed into an international law specialist whilst gaining a thorough knowledge of Nissan’s business – both invaluable items in his arsenal considering the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance that has developed in the last few years and which represents the world’s largest automotive alliance.
