Serving as the compliance director for the Southern Cone region at pharmaceutical giant Sanofi, Analia Laurella is responsible for dealing with all compliance and privacy matters in the South Cone region. ‘She is a very proactive lawyer with great management skills’, according to one nominator. Sanofi is a global healthcare leader with presence in 100 countries, employing more than 100,000 people and transforming scientific innovation into healthcare solutions, in human vaccines, rare diseases, multiple sclerosis, oncology, immunology, infectious diseases, diabetes, cardiovascular solutions and consumer healthcare. The company achieved a total revenue of €35bn in 2017. In the Southern Cone, it operates in Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and Paraguay, and has over 900 employees. Laurella joined Sanofi in 2013 as the compliance officer covering the Southern Cone, she was appointed compliance director three years later and has been in charge of compliance and privacy in the region since. Prior to her role at Sanofi, Laurella spent over nine years at Bristol-Myers Squibb, another global biopharmaceutical company, addressing legal, compliance and ethics issues. She graduated from the University of Buenos Aires with a law degree.
