María Mercedes Olano, vice president of JPMorgan Chase & Co Argentina, is an expert in-house counsel in the Argentina market. The bank has had a 150 year presence in Latin America, with 130 years in Argentina and is a recognised leader in the region, thanks in part to its bond house and highly ranked research team. Olano has worked on the banks’ treasury services, investment banking, markets and securities services monitoring transactions and regulatory systems, demonstrating her exemplary skill. Previously practicing in a similar role at the Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi UFJ, she demonstrated her quality over several years. In the words of a nominator, ‘[Olano] has quietly helped the local legal presence of the biggest Japanese bank in some very high profile transactions in Argentina. These include foreign trade, acquisitions and dispositions.
