Bernard Kuhn
Legal director | LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton
Bernard Kuhn initiated his legal career in 1979 after attaining his Doctor in Law qualification. Following the completion of internships at law firm Clifford Chance and at the Bank of Paris and the Netherlands, Kuhn spent four years at Servier Laboratories before being recruited by the French multinational luxury goods conglomerate LVMH in 1983. Leaving an impeccable impression on senior management with his support of the Group’s growth over the next decade, Kuhn was promoted to legal director in 1991, where he has remained ever since.
Known industry-wide for his diligent support of the LVMH’s activities, as well as his drive to solve the most complex of legal problems, over the years, Kuhn has set up a highly effective legal unit. Comprising roughly 25 employees, his department is divided into three distinct teams with one dedicated to business law, one covering the legal secretariat and corporate governance and a team specialising in intellectual property. Working in synergy with each other, and other divisions within the conglomerate, these teams provide legal service to over 60 corporate subsidiaries, each managing a number of prestigious brands.
