Ramón Sosa heads legal affairs at Frávega, one of Argentina’s largest retailers of electrical and household appliances. He advises on a range of corporate and legal matters across the company, from negotiating contracts, reviewing documentation, managing and coordinating the legal team, and representing the company in consumer and employee related disputes. He is also closely involved in Frávega’s developing of responses to changing consumer behaviour. Recently, Frávega announced plans to offer mobile phone services to its customers via the networks of more traditional providers. The so-called virtual network operator model is common in many countries but, to date, the only such provider in Argentina has been the relatively small-scale operator Nuestro. Sosa had a key part to play in adapting this model to the scale necessary for Frávega. Before joining Frávega in 2015, Sosa was a lawyer at the Argentinian Ministry of Economy and Public Finance dealing with competition and consumer law cases.
