Head of legal – South American cluster | Takeda
Federico Fernández Zavalía is a general counsel with substantial international in-house and private practice experience gained in the pharmaceutical, agriculture, energy and recruitment industries. Well versed in dealing with day-to-day legal risk, as well as working on corporate M&A deals, compliance and governance matters, and extensive regulatory work, Fernández has been applauded for his deep knowledge of the law and strategic and commercial vision. Since October 2015, Fernández has been head of legal for the South American Cluster of multinational healthcare company Takeda Pharmaceuticals. Covering a region comprised of Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela, Fernández reports to the head of legal for Latin America and Brazil based in Mexico. Prior to this role he served as general counsel for Argentina and Uruguay for the company, and before that acted as a senior associate at Studio Trevisan Lawyers. The first in-house legal role in Fernández’s legal career was with Adecco Argentina between 2005 and 2007.
