hat are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?

In the last year, we continued the project of digitisation of legal activities, with the implementation of new systems for issuing commercial and operational contracts, monitoring of judicial and administrative processes and issuing legal opinions. Our goal was to make the legal activity more agile, giving greater security in solving any issues presented to us by our commercial and business partners. In addition, we train our teams in relation to new general data protection legislation, competitive and commercial compliance.

Did the pandemic lead to a lasting increase in the interaction your legal team has with the strategic plans of the company?

The pandemic was a challenge particularly on team management, as we seek to focus more efforts in improving our personal lives, to motivate our colleagues and avoid a dispersion in relation to the objectives of the company and the legal area. I believe the strategy worked well and we had no major problems. Now we work within a hybrid model. between face-to-face and home office, in a very productive way.

How important is choosing to work with external lawyers who align with your company’s values? Are you likely to reconsider what firms you work with based on this?

It is very important to work with external lawyers that know our business and that share our values, so we evaluate new firms, considering not only knowledge and availability for service and cost, but also if external lawyers share our most important values.
