Can you give an idea of the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in? 

As a growing business, our small corporate legal team consisting of 2 lawyers support around 5+ acquisitions per year and ongoing restructuring activities, following the merger of Widex/AS and Sivantos, in 2018.  

How has your legal team progressed on issues of diversity and inclusion (D&I), and what are the main benefits or challenges of working in a diverse environment? 

The relatively small but growing global legal team is spread out with colleagues based mainly in Denmark, Singapore, Brazil and the US. In that respect we are quite diverse.  

How do you suggest in-house departments build strong relationships with business partners? 

We work very closely with the business and management on a day-to-day basis. It is vital that we keep up with the news and developments in our region and globally to ensure we can support and be proactive in the right areas.    

If you had to give advice to an aspiring in-house lawyer or general counsel, what would it be and why? 

Get involved and be pro-active. Ensure you have the finger on the pulse and know what is going on in the business today and what the plans are for the future. Legal can provide its best support to the business when issues and risks are spotted beforehand.
