Takahisa Shimizu is the senior legal counsel, legal of FedEx Express.

Takahisa supported the integration of FedEx Express and TNT Express, particularly on local legal matters, and played a key role in the smooth integration of the two companies in 2020. Additionally, he is also involved in various projects and business activities in Japan and across the NPAC regions.

Prior to joining FedEx Express, Takahisa served at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs where he led negotiations on cross-border trade in services of various economic partnership agreements including the EU-Japan EPA and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP). He also worked with Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) to provide expert support to ASEAN countries in creating their national regulations.

Takahisa is admitted to practice law in Japan and is a graduate of Waseda University with a Bachelor of Laws as well as the University of Tokyo with his Juris Doctor degree.
