A dedicated, experienced and well-regarded corporate counsel with close to 21 years of experience across a number of prominent companies in a diverse range of industry sectors. Shalinee Fernandez graduated with a law degree from the University of London in 1999 and University of New England, (New South Wales) Australia in 2020. She was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor to the High Court of Malaya in October 2002 and recently conferred a PhD (Honorary Doctorate) in Advanced Studies in International Law.

After leaving a private practice position where she was a partner in a Kuala Lumpur-based firm, Fernandez took her first in-house role as legal manager of enforcements at the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange. Further in-house positions in Malaysia with BlueScope Steel (legal counsel Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei) and Atos (legal counsel Asia-Pacific) a French ICT multinational; notable projects include the GovNext-ICT with the Australian government in Perth, Western Australia, 2017 and Commonwealth Games 2018 in Brisbane, Australia.

Fernandez then moved to Australia to launch an Indian ride-hailing platform OLA for the ANZ markets. Her most senior role sees Fernandez take on global operations responsibilities for Ansell, where she is also an associate director. Here, she oversees Ansell’s manufacturing operations across Asia-Pacific, supporting the global supply chain and Ansell’s Environmental, Social, and Governance initiatives across Asia-Pacific apart from rolling out key Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives to ensure global compliance to International Labour Organization standards and combating modern day slavery practices.
