Spotlight on Ida Suryati Ab Rahim

Ida Suryati Ab Rahim leads the legal and company secretary functions of IHH Group in Malaysia, Singapore, India, Hong Kong, and China. She oversees the legal secretarial and board governance matters in IHH Group. She leads a legal practice group of 16 lawyers and at least 18 company secretarial team members across multiple jurisdictions.

Ida’s practice is corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate and boardroom legal matters. She has been involved in the establishment and management of various governance structures and frameworks, advising the group on various mergers and acquisitions, dispute resolutions, litigation, corporate and operational legal matters throughout her legal career, since 1996.

She is a qualified advocate and solicitor and was called to the High Court of Malaysia in 1997. Ida has diversified non-legal experience, having led the group’s sustainability, governance and compliance divisions, and functioned as the vice president of international business of a large oil palm plantation company in Malaysia.
