What has been the number one challenge that has impacted you over the past year?

During the last year, and given the crisis that the world is experiencing, the biggest challenge has been to generate and integrate collection strategies and operational continuity for the firm’s businesses. This has required adapting financial products to the situation facing Peru and continuing to carry out businesses that provide shareholders with legal certainty for the return of their investments.

Looking forward, what technological advancements do you feel will impact the role of in-house legal teams in the future the most?

The biggest impact on internal legal teams will always be effective communication. Law studies are traditional, but also increasingly influenced by other sciences. Tools that allow the most efficient communication possible for internal and external clients will be the most relevant to achieve better agreements and solutions in the legal field.

What is a cause, business related or otherwise, that you care about, and why?

The support provided by the firm I represent to grant loans to micro, small and medium-sized companies through specialised financial services. These financial products have a special legal nature and a high impact on incentives for business formalisation and financial inclusion.
