Could you share an example of a time when you came up with an innovation that improved the way your legal team works and did not come at a huge cost?
The pandemic forced us to innovate, and the result was the successful implementation of a new digital contract management system that has brought greater efficiency to our organisation.
What are some of the key developments that have affected your business over the past year?
The criminal liability of legal persons is forcing business organisations to implement robust crime prevention systems.
How do you think the internal legal role will evolve in the coming years?
Technological advances will provoke greater legal challenges, especially in areas such as privacy, use of personal data, cybersecurity, cryptocurrencies, and artificial intelligence. This new reality will be part of the challenges faced by the internal legal role, which will have to ensure its ethical use, while encouraging responsible innovation
Do you use any legal technology products and, if so, for what areas of your work do you find them most useful?
We have successfully implemented digital contract management systems as well as ethics, risk, governance, and self-regulation programmes. They have proven to be effective and efficient in our work.
