Counsel – Caribbean and Central America Cluster | Philip Morris Dominicana
First, can you please give us an idea of the sort of work your team has done recently?
From the legal area, we support commercial initiatives in the Caribbean and Central American markets, aligned with our main objective: “a world free of smoke”. Likewise, we are excited to belong to a company that constantly seeks the well-being of its collaborators and we are proud to have collaborated in the projects of new internal policies for teleworking and parental leave, with which we not only seek the balance of work and personal life of everyone in the organisation, but we adapt to the new models and family dynamics, embracing inclusion and diversity as essential pillars.
How do you stay up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations in the Dominican Republic relevant to your organisation’s industry?
I keep up to date through specialised business magazines, update bulletins received by external law firms with which we collaborate in the different countries of the cluster, and participation in seminars and conferences, both online and in person.
What is a cause, business related or otherwise, that you care about, and why?
I think we have an opportunity to embrace innovation and regulate around it. Bans are not necessarily solutions to a constantly evolving world. Understanding what is happening in the world and starting to legislate, adapting to our realities, is a way of being at the forefront.
