What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in? 

Our legal and governance team has been closely involved in the implementation of the group strategy over the past year. This involved speedily executing a series of transactions to dispose of our intelligence division during 2022. The aim of this was to help maximise the value realisation (approximately £1.8bn), which is subsequently being used to invest in our existing businesses, expand into adjacent businesses and return some money to our investors. The more recent M&A programme has included the acquisition of Industry Dive, Netline and Tarsus.   

What do you see as an opportunity or risk over the next six months?  

While we have emerged from the Covid pandemic, the economic outlook is uncertain, with different regions facing different challenges. Although our existing businesses have re-inflated post-pandemic, as we look to invest our capital, we will work with the business to identify and manage the related risks.
