Manufacturing the Benson & Hedges, Belmont, Craven A, Rothmans, Canadian Classics, Number 7, Accord, Mark Ten, NEXT, Philip Morris and IQOS Heets brands of tobacco products, Philip Morris International (PMI) has a strong Canadian presence through its subsidiary Rothmans, Benson and Hedges (RBH). Since the takeover in 2008, PMI has operated in Canada under the RBH brand and employed over 780 people across Canada through its corporate offices and major North American manufacturing plant in Quebec City. PMI’s in-house legal team in Canada has played a major role in enabling the company’s continued success in the region and helping it innovate. It has shifted its focus away from burning tobacco to smokeless products and is leading the industry in its research and development globally. The legal team continues to defend the company from tobacco health related lawsuits and is highly skilled in healthcare and research regulatory law, as well as enabling it to develop and roll-out its new technology.
