Could you share an example of a time when you came up with an innovation that improved how your legal team works and did not come at a large expense? 

In recent years I have contributed to measures to improve innovation. Example of such measures include the implementation of a tool that allows the business function to create NDAs; an AI-driven search engine which improves the use of analytics for smart risk management by allowing searches within signed contracts through key words in different languages; and an internal tool for automatic translations in over 100 languages.  

How would you assess the impact of new technologies on the legal landscape in Italy, and what measures would you propose to leverage these technologies while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations? 

ChatGPT as well as other AI tools able to markup agreements would impact the legal profession in relation to contract negotiation. Accenture Global legal leadership is currently working to adopt Gen AI as an instrument to assist legal professional daily work.  As indicated above, we already developed search engine tools to improve analytics, to make legal professionals’ available for more value-added activities. We will not rely on these technologies to guarantee compliance with laws and regulations, as we have subject matter experts that monitors this aspect. 

How do you prioritise diversity and inclusion within your legal department, and what initiatives have you implemented to foster a more inclusive and equitable work environment? 

We strongly believe an inclusive and diverse environment would help everyone be their best for the ultimate benefit of the company. We try to achieve this in several ways, considering the different cycles of the employment relationship. In particular, we sponsor and work with different associations representing ethnic minorities to make sure we have a diverse slate of candidates; developed specific training to reduce bias during the recruitment process that recruiting managers need to take; very carefully apply equitable salaries, and foster a strong LGBT+ mentality. 

What is a cause, business-related or otherwise, you are passionate about, and why? 

Businesswise, I am deeply passionate about contributing to the success of the company and thrilled by the intellectual challenges I am continuously exposed to, especially in considering how the services we offer to our clients evolve and how we want to always be abreast of modern technologies. 

On the personal side, I am passionate about my sport hobbies, tennis and padel, and about being a father of two young daughters.
