Could you share an example of a time when you came up with an innovation that improved how your legal team works and did not come at a large expense?  

I believe that the best example of innovation is the citizen campaign that Equifax leads, and this year I am the leader of that. We are involved in a massive campaign for citizens, in terms of financial education, and how everyone should adapt healthy tools in relation to financial inclusion. It is a main part of our purpose, and I am really proud to lead this institutional campaign. 

Can you foresee any key developments to the way general counsel work over the next five years?   

Increasingly, compliance with the law is and will be seen as an asset to be protected and shared. In-house counsel partner with business unit leaders to become a strong team. We must be part of the strategic lines of work. 

Moreover, from our legal perspective, we must introduce an ESG vision, as a main project to comply with our purpose. In many cases, we have the opportunity to change the company’s impact. It is mandatory to work in this way.
