Focus on: My career

Luis Vernaza is Dole Food Company’s general counsel for operations in Ecuador, Peru, and Colombia, where he is responsible for all legal matters pertaining to the company.  He has extensive experience in international business transactions, corporate, labour, and tax law, and complex litigation. 

Luis joined Dole in 2003. He was previously an associate attorney for the law firm of Dyer Ellis & Joseph (currently Blank Rome LLP) in Washington DC, where his practice areas included corporate, international, maritime and environmental law.   

Luis obtained his law degree from Universidad Catolica de Santiago de Guayaquil in 1995, and an LL.M in International Law in 1996.  He is admitted to practice law in Ecuador and New York, and is a member of the bar associations of Guayaquil and New York.
