What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?

One of the most important processes we have had is the purchase and sale of infrastructure with international companies that now operate in Ecuador and the arbitration process with the Ecuadorian State.

Why are in-house lawyers well-placed to drive change in their organisations?

The internal lawyer in an organisation can support in the development of products and services for the telecommunications clients framed in respect to the law, to the rights of the users and therefore contribute with the development of the telecommunications that our country still needs.

What diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives have you and your legal department been championing within your company’s endeavours?

Within the organisation, we always seek to include the development process of women so that they can be increasingly positioned in managerial positions. In the legal team that I manage, we have an equitable number of participants so that we support this objective pursued by the organisation, which also allows us to be more diverse and achieve the objectives we expect.
