What are the most significant cases or transactions that you have recently been involved in? 

My focus is on M&A opportunities for Fortescue’s green energy business in various international jurisdictions. In the past 12 months, I have led the legal team on opportunities in infrastructure, technologies and funds in various jurisdictions including Europe, the US, and the UK. Several of those projects resulted in Fortescue closing investments worth in aggregate several hundred million US dollars. One such investment that has been made public is Fortescue’s joint venture with Tree Energy Solutions and its investment in its energy terminal project at Wilhelmshaven, Germany. 

What is a cause, business related or otherwise, that you care about, and why? 

Fortescue Energy’s investments have a laser focus on technologies, products and projects that must be rapidly scaled-up and commercialised to decarbonise hard-to-abate sectors and arrest climate change. That is a huge factor in why I chose to join this team.  

As an M&A lawyer, it is a dream to have such a clear and important investment mandate that is backed by Fortescue’s execution capabilities and financial resources.
