What are the most significant cases and transactions in the LATAM region that you or your legal team have recently been involved in?

We are immersed in several civil cases of claims due to property and asset damages arisen of breach of contractual duties, various marine cargo claims against one steamship within our international distribution business and, falling into a criminal scope, various crimes against property, and finally, one M&A of new local company in Mexico to expand our distribution and maintenance business.

What are your organisations plans in the LATAM region over the next 12 months and how will your legal expertise help to achieve these plans?

Our strategy aligns with the past five years of inorganic growth, taking advantage of the global market situation. We primarily focus our operational expansion efforts on business without capex, particularly on distribution, maintenance, and training line of business. Last but not least, we are committed to embracing sustainability and pursuing the objective of promoting “the circular economy” through exporting our best practices to the countries where we operate in Latin America.

How do you adapt your legal counselling to align with the diverse business practices and customs of various LATAM countries?

GAM is a very dynamic company, and we are constantly adapting to the service requirement need of the clients, while limiting our exposure to risk through contractual shielding of our commercial relationships We are advised by local law firms within each country to carry out this task properly.
