What are the most significant cases and transactions in the LATAM region that you or your legal team have recently been involved in?

Two of the most significant transactions we have recently been involved in include the extension and refinancing of the Scada (Santiago-Los Vilos) transport road concession in Chile; and the preparation of an early termination scenario and investment international arbitration in Costa Rica, regarding Ruta 27 (San José-Caldera) road concession in Costa Rica

What are your organisations plans in the LATAM region over the next 12 months and how will your legal expertise help to achieve these plans?

We aim to continue the operation of the existing transportation assets within the portfolio enhancing value creation. We also plan to continue providing support on sustainable mobility services to be added to the concession business and expand investment in current countries or new jurisdictions, such as Colombia.

How do you adapt your legal counselling to align with the diverse business practices and customs of various LATAM countries?

We drive the general legal framework according to Globalvia investment policies and rely on the work of our in-house counsel, adding the local expertise of top legal firms depending on the countries of the tender, negotiation, or M&A transaction.
