Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio (Superintendence of Industry and Commerce)
Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio (Superintendence of Industry and Commerce), the competition authority of the Colombian Government, is in charge of regulating fair business practices, promoting competitiveness and acting as a Colombian patent and registration office. It goes without saying that a competent and knowledgeable legal unit is absolutely essential to the smooth operation of the institution. Luckily SIC employs some of the brightest lawyers in Colombia, who advise on issues related to competition matters, business integration and consumer protection. Operating in a fast paced and constantly changing environment, individual lawyers within this relatively large legal function have demonstrated superb knowledge of consumer law and intellectual property. The team features both established public sector lawyers such as Jorge Enrique Sánchez Medina and young and ambitious professionals, such as Jesus Esteban Revelo, Jaime Eduardo Quintero Sanabria and Felipe Garcia, among others.
